Key To HappinessProducts Relating to 'Key To Happiness'

The key to happiness is a bit like the Holy Grail in Dan Brown's story The Da Vinci Code. Most people believe it is something external to themselves, something that, once they find it will allow them to use this Key to Happiness to unlock all the doors that prevent them from feeling joy in their lives. In Dan Brown's story, however, the Holy Grail - that is the Key to Happiness - is not an object it is a bloodline, in effect the essence of a soul.

As long as you seek the key to life outside of yourself you will never find it. Many wonderful, talented people journey through their life, thinking if only they had more money, better health, or a perfect relationship that they would indeed have found their Key to Happiness. Eventually they will discover their mistake and begin to search once more.

I am not suggesting that more money, better health, or being loved by the man or woman of your dreams would not improve the quality of your life for a while. They would. But Human minds are adaptive and they only remain stimulated by new experiences for a little while, then those new experiences become normal and the search starts for more, or better stimulation. That is why if you seek money to make you happy you will never have enough. If you seek love to make you happy you will never have enough. And if you seek good health to make you happy you will probably kill yourself through over-exercise.

The true key to happiness lies within you. No matter what your circumstances you already have it.

Having it does not necessarily mean you make use of it, or that you recognise it.

There is only one thing that causes unhappiness. That thing is your thought about a circumstance. If you had no thoughts you would be unable to be unhappy. The reason for this is that happiness is your natural state. Society works very hard to train us into unhappiness and this training is so effective that we forget who we truly are. We forget that we have the key to love within us.You have only to observe young children at play on their own to know that this is true.

Now, asking you to stop thinking is like saying "here's the key to happiness but there is no lock to fit it into". However, you can become aware of your thoughts. You can become aware of what you are thinking when you feel bad and you can become aware of what you are thinking when you feel good. And all you have to do when you feel bad is to think a different thought.

At some time when you are peaceful and you have a little time to yourself, find a comfortable spot, relax into it and start to daydream. Daydream about a pleasant place; a beach, a beautiful meadow; a balcony overlooking a beautiful bay with a wonderful sunset; a peaceful, colourful garden with comfortable seats and a bubbling fountain - it really doesn't matter as long as you feel good when you imagine it. Get into the daily habit of imagining this place.

This daydream is your key to happiness . Whenever you notice that you feel unhappy, just bring this daydream into your mind for a moment or two and notice how your body almost instantly changes to a more peaceful state. Have fun. You are in charge of your thoughts - if you choose to be.
